Some of my designs utilize Canva frames or other Canva assets to make them come to life. For those designs, it is important to understand how to use them properly in Google Sites. I have a video on editing a Google Site that is HEAVY with Canva elements that you can watch here.
Canva is a free graphic design platform that allows you to easily create invitations, business cards, flyers, lesson plans, Zoom backgrounds, and more using professionally designed templates.
You can even upload your own photos and add them to Canva's templates using a drag and drop interface.
However, I should note that Canva does not employ me - therefore, I won't be able to give you anyone on one training on Canva. There are loads of free Canva training available through Canva. You can check out some of my Canva tutorials here.
If your design features Canva there will be a page inside of your file with your Canvas links. Click the links in the file to open. Once the link opens, you will see something like this:
Click "Use Template" and Canva will direct you to the templates where you can edit & personalize them. You can install this on your mobile or desktop.
NOTE: Canva Pro is required for transparent exports.
When your pictures are displayed in your library, click and hold your desired photo. Drag the picture to the desired place on the template. Please wait for your picture to appear in the template guide before placing it.
If the image is too far to the left or right, double-click it until a photo display appears where you can slide the photo around until you have it where you like it. Be sure to press the checkmark at the top left of the screen to return to the original edit screen.
If you drag and drop a photo and eventually don't like it, just drag and drop a new image onto the previous one until you get the look you want. To edit a photo, select the image again if you would like to change the filter, crop, or arrange the photo differently. Then use the top white bar to edit it.
To change the text, click on the text. A box will appear around it. Highlight all of the parts that you want to change and re-type what you would like it to say.
To change to font, color, spacing, etc. refer to the bar that appears at the top of your edit display screen.
If you would like to change the background color, click the space you want to change and a bar will appear at the top of your edit display screen. To the far left, there will be a box with the current color in it. Click on the box and you can either choose from the colors Canva has or add your own hex codes related to your brand colors.
After you finish editing your templates, click on the "Download" icon at the top right of your screen. A drop-down menu will appear, giving you various export options.
In order to save with the transparent background you must have pro features! If you do not have a pro the background will save white. You can use other resources to remove the white background.
